Last night I went to see Busted on their Night Driver tour at the Eventim Apollo in London. I wrote about it for MTV, and also got a cute picture with Matt after the show – he’s always been my fave *heart eye emoji*.
Busted came back to the Eventim Apollo in London last night for the first time since their tour in 2003.
The three piece are currently playing shows around the country with their new album Night Driver with a set that is the perfect mix of old and new material.
This show felt very special for the lads as they called out to their families who had come along to see them. Charlie even said that the gig was ‘possibly one of his favourite shows ever’ and the 5,000 people at the venue definitely felt great to be a part of that.
The new album is pretty different to their older material in terms of genre and musicality, so the addition of extra keys and synths on stage added a whole new element to their live show. Shout out to the great saxophone player that kept popping up to do his parts – you ruled.
Highlights from the set included the moody second album classic, ‘3am’ and ‘On What You’re On’ from Night Driver, it’s literally impossible not to dance along to the latter.
Overall the guys proved exactly why they deserve their spot back in the music industry as one of the best boy bands around. They might be all grown up now but that certainly doesn’t stop us fangirling over them like we did when we were teens.
As long as the band keep touring, we’ll be going to see them like the dedicated fans we are.
